Share songs, playing tips while meeting other ukulele lovers. Why play the ukulele? The ukulele is the happiest, most accessible, and easiest string instrument to learn. A small group of women, referred to as the "Ladies Who Uke" were taking lessons with Killian Mansfield in 2009. Killian passed away in August, 2009, following a 5-year cancer battle. After that, George Koury, a very talented ukulele player (and Tiny Tim's cousin) -- also a dear friend of Killian's -- graciously offered to guide the group. A group to come together and "jam" on the Ukulele (all ages, skills and Ukulele sizes welcome). No particular level of experience is needed, just play the notes and chords that you can manage. The Ukulele is a great instrument for beginners and experienced players alike. (Many times easer to learn to strum than the the guitar) Within a few minutes you can learn a few songs. And playing with a group will push you to learn more, while meeting new friends.
